How We Met
Stetson is one of our most prized cats. We had tried to buy from his breeder for over a year and waited patiently for a kitten to become available. When she finally sent photos of him as a beautiful kitten and told us he was available, it didn’t matter what his price tag was — we were in love.
He came all the way from Norway and was hand-delivered by a well-known U.S. courier who flew overseas to pick him up in person for us. When Stetson arrived at our home, the courier had nothing but praise for both his breeder and Stetson himself, describing him as an exceptional kitten with an amazing personality. We were thrilled to welcome him, not only into our breeding program but also into our family.
Stetson is a very rare color. Many kittens appear light in color, often described as high smoke or pale silver, but genetically Stetson is what’s called a shell. Shell is the lightest shade in the shaded color group and can only be produced through a perfect genetic combination from both parents. It’s a highly desired and rare color, which makes it one of the most valuable.
We have a strict breeding contract for Stetson, and it took a lot of effort, stress, and patience to get him safely to the United States. Now that he’s here, he’s not just one of our most beautiful studs — he’s our big baby, and we love him dearly.
🧡 Personality
Stetson arrived as the youngest kitten we had ever received, and that early start gave him the best personality. Sometimes older kittens can be a bit hesitant when adjusting to a new home, but Stetson was imported as soon as he reached the legal age, making him more adaptable. His breeder had children who played with him often, and it showed from the moment he arrived.
He didn’t know a stranger. During his quarantine period, he stayed in one room and quickly began showing just how affectionate he was. He would even wrap his paws around your leg when you tried to leave the room, as if to say, “Don’t go!” He craved attention and loved being near people.
If you’ve ever heard that Maine Coons have personalities like dogs, Stetson is living proof. As he’s grown older, not much has changed. He still has that big, lovable baby attitude and wants all the affection he can get. Everyone who meets him falls in love instantly. He has more than doubled in size since his arrival and is still growing, but his sweet and playful personality has remained exactly the same — the best we could ask for.

Health Testing
Stetson has been genetically tested through **Optimal Selection by Wisdom Panel and is clear for all diseases and genetic risks included in the panel, with one exception. He carries one copy of Variant I and one copy of Variant II associated with Factor XII Deficiency (Hageman Trait).
Factor XII Deficiency (Hageman Trait)
Factor XII Deficiency, also known as Hageman trait, is an inherited blood factor deficiency that is typically asymptomatic. Cats with this condition do not have an increased tendency to bleed. In some cases, it may be observed as prolonged clotting times during specific laboratory screening tests, but it does not cause clinical bleeding disorders.
This condition is inherited recessively and is only considered clinically relevant when two copies of the variants are present. Cats carrying one copy are not affected and do not experience health complications related to this trait.
Stetson carries one copy of each identified variant. He does not have Factor XII Deficiency, has undergone appropriate screening, and his health is not impacted in any way. Because he is the only cat in our program with this carrier status, there is no risk of producing affected offspring within our cattery.
Breeding & Transparency
Stetson’s complete genetic results are available for review above. His carrier status is managed responsibly through informed breeding decisions and program planning. Transparency and education are central to our breeding philosophy, and we are always happy to provide context or answer questions regarding genetic testing and health screening.
