How We Met
If you take one look at this beautiful girl, there’s no question as to why we purchased her! She is a stunning polydactyl tortie who stole my heart the moment I laid eyes on her. She came to us from Russia, along with her half-brother, Pawzilla I, and Sushi. She took a long flight from Moscow to New York City, and then an even longer car ride from NYC to St. Louis, Missouri, where we lived at the time.
When Sashimi first arrived, she was extremely scared. It took her a little while to adjust, but she quickly warmed up to us. Being one of our very first females, she holds a special place in my heart.
Sashimi didn’t have her first litter as early as most cats do. She arrived with an ear infection that required surgery before we felt it was safe to breed her. She’s a very healthy girl now, and she sure hasn’t disappointed with a single kitten she’s produced!
Today, we’ve settled into what my husband calls home here in North Carolina, and Sashimi is drawing near to her retirement. She has had a few litters of truly stunning kittens—one of those is Jellyfish, whom we kept from a Yeti × Sashimi litter. Sashimi has never produced anything less than beautiful!
🧡 Personality:
Sashimi overcame her timid kitten days and has become the most loving cat! She’s passed her gentle, affectionate nature on to all of her kittens too. She’s one big, fluffy snuggle bug.
It never fails, whenever I sit down in a room where Sashimi is, she’s instantly in my lap. She loves to rub all over me, put her paws on my face, and wrap her arms around me.
She’s even gone with me to the groomer for a bath when my days have been especially busy. One particular day, I was told that every employee knew Sashimi was coming so they could stop by to visit her. She got to tour the shop, pick out a new harness and leash, and even got a Halloween costume since the holiday was coming up.
Sashimi just eats up every bit of attention she can get and lures everyone in with her beauty and charm!

Health Testing
Sashimi has been genetically tested through **Optimal Selection by Wisdom Panel and is clear for all diseases and genetic risks included in the panel, with one exception. She carries a single copy of PK-Def (Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency).
PK-Def is an inherited condition that affects red blood cell function and is passed recessively. An animal must inherit two copies of the gene to be affected. Cats with only one copy are considered carriers and do not develop the disease or experience related health issues. As a carrier, Sashimi’s health is not impacted in any way, and she will never develop PK-Def.
Because PK-Def is recessive, Sashimi cannot produce affected kittens when bred to a PK-Def clear male. In this pairing, kittens may either be genetically clear or carriers, but none will develop the condition. There is a 50% chance that a kitten may inherit one copy of the gene, which like Sashimi, does not affect health or quality of life.
Sashimi’s complete genetic results are available for review above, and we are always happy to answer questions and provide context. Our breeding decisions are made with both transparency and long-term health in mind, and carrier status is managed responsibly through informed pairing choices.
