Pawzilla Maine Coons is a family-run cattery specializing in oversized, European-line Maine Coons with bold features and massive paws. Our journey began years ago in Illinois before planting roots in North Carolina. Each of our cats are raised with a focus on health, socialization, and beauty. We proudly welcome visitors picking up their kittens and love connecting our gentle giants with families who want something truly unforgettable.

Our Story

How It All Started

It all began with my granddaughter Celeste, who wouldn’t stop begging for a kitten. We’ve always loved cats, and no one in the family was opposed to the idea. Over the years, we’ve had barn cats, strays, Persians—and I’ve personally taken in my fair share of ferals, even scooping kittens from parking lots and heading straight to the vet for checkups and spay/neuter.

But this time, we wanted something truly special.

My husband, John, had mentioned how much he loved the look of a Maine Coon. After very little deliberation, we were all in—it was the breed to own! We searched high and low across the U.S., spending countless hours scrolling breeder websites, Facebook pages, and kitten photos. In the end, we made the bold decision to buy from overseas.

Why? Because we weren’t interested in contracts, restrictions, or being told what we could and couldn’t do with an animal we were purchasing. We wanted healthy, tested, registered Maine Coon cats—without the drama, ego, or gatekeeping.

It was a gamble, but one that paid off. We were blessed with the outcome.

Our cattery originally started as Royal Majesty Maine Coons (aka RM Maine Coons), but we eventually encountered issues with name confusion—other catteries had nearly identical names, and one even popped up with just a single letter difference. That’s when we decided it was time for something unique.

We chose to honor our very first and favorite Maine Coon: Pawzilla. He was the heart of our program, and when we lost him to an accident, it was devastating. We’ve since brought in a new (unrelated) Pawzilla who has big paws to fill—he looks just like the original!

Today, we’re proud to be known as Pawzilla Maine Coons—a family-run cattery rooted in love, legacy, and loyalty to this extraordinary breed.

Cyndi Collins

Meet the Family Behind the Cats...

My name is Cyndi Collins, and I’ve had a lifelong love for animals. As a little girl, my nickname was “cat momma.” I used to sneak into the neighbor’s falling-down barn (where I wasn’t supposed to be!) to catch kittens, sneak them through my bedroom window, and play with them for hours. When my mom developed film months later, she’d ask where all those cats came from. That’s just a glimpse into my past.

Today, I’m a wife, mom, MiMi (grandmother), and the animal lady my family lovingly teases. My husband John may act like the cats are all mine—but I catch him snuggling them as often as I do. He’s my biggest supporter.

Our oldest daughter, Kelsi, is my right hand. She’s the photographer behind most of the beautiful images you see, the manager of our social media, and a mom of four. Her kids are our in-house socialization crew, and Kelsi has fully embraced the Maine Coon life.

Our middle daughter, though living across the country, owns one of our beautiful kittens—and already wants another. Our youngest daughter is a true cat-lover, and if she didn’t have to leave for college, she’d probably move all the cats into her room.

My parents, Mama and Papa, are always there for us. They still roll their eyes when I announce another big idea—but they love all our animals. My mom used to say, “Cyndi, you can have as many animals as you want once you have your own house.” I remind her of that often!

Most importantly, we are a God-fearing family, and our Lord comes first in everything we do. We strive to raise these cats with the same love, care, and faith that guide our lives.

Why Choose a Maine Coon?

Known as the “gentle giants” of the cat world, Maine Coons are adored for their loving temperament, intelligence, and stunning beauty.

Majestic Appearance

With their lion-like ruff, tufted ears, and bushy tails, Maine Coons are a showstopper.
Their large size and luxurious coats give them a wild yet regal look that turns heads — yet their beauty is only part of their charm.

Gentle Temperament

Maine Coons are famously kind, patient, and affectionate — especially with children.
They thrive in family environments and are known for being tolerant, calm, and easygoing, making them ideal companions for kids and other pets.

Dog-Like Personality

They’ll follow you from room to room, greet you at the door, and even play fetch.
Maine Coons are highly social and form deep bonds with their owners. Many are even leash-trainable and enjoy interactive play just like a dog!

Highly Intelligent & Trainable

These cats love puzzles, learn routines quickly, and can even perform tricks.
Their sharp minds and playful curiosity make them engaging pets that can adapt easily to various lifestyles and environments.

Low-Maintenance Grooming

Despite their long, fluffy fur, Maine Coons rarely mat and are easy to maintain.
Their coats are silky, not overly dense, and require only moderate grooming — typically just a brushing once or twice a week.

Quiet Communicators

Maine Coons are famously gentle talkers with soft trills and chirps — not loud meows.
They use a unique voice to communicate in a sweet, non-intrusive way, often responding to your voice or letting you know when it’s playtime.
